Books For Kids Day 2008 Review Baltimore Reads is pleased to announce that on Books for Kids Day 2008 (Saturday, May 3, 2008) we collected 18,622 books, almost a 50% increase from that day last year! We would like to give sincere thanks to all our volunteers, Bob Geer and Lynn Janney included, our sponsors for this years event, a hearty thanks to Baltimore for Barack's "Yes We Can" Youth Initiative & The Boys' Latin School of Maryland, and a very special thanks to Maria Broom, Joey Odoms, Nick Maggio & Alyssa's Dogs, and all of the book donors that made this years event a great success! Stay tuned for our final numbers for this campaign year, ending June 30th.....
