Books For Kids Day 2008

Mark your calendars!  Baltimore Reads’ Books for Kids Day event will take place on May 3, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the parking lot of Poly/Western High School.  Held annually, this event gives the community-at-large an opportunity to drop-off their new and gently used children’s books for disadvantaged children throughout the Baltimore area.  Our goal is to collect 75,000 books during each campaign year, with a significant portion of the books collected during our Books for Kids Day event.  Imagine the joy children will receive when they are given books of their very own!  So please, support Books for Kids Day (book donations are also accepted year-round).  Here are some of the ways you can help:

ü      Donate your new or gently used children’s books.

ü      Download the BFKD packet below and organize a community-wide book drive.

ü      Spread the word.  Tell your friends, family and co-workers.

ü      Have your company sponsor the event.  For information on sponsoring Books for Kids Day contact pmorrison@baltimorereads.org.

ü      Volunteer your time on the day of the event by agreeing to sort, stamp and package books. Download the volunteer form below and e-mail pmorrison@baltimorereads.org with your contact information.

ü      Send a financial contribution.  Donate now!
