Reading Tips:

Parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, caregiver or friend: anyone can help in getting children excited about reading. Here are a few tips:

Get a family library card.
Let your child see you read for fun.
Give gifts of reading materials, books, and magazine subscriptions.
Read aloud to and with your children. Try poetry, plays and word games.
Encourage your children to keep personal journals. This combines reading and writing.
