The Ripken Adult Learning Center

Our adult learning programs provide literacy and GED preparation classes to Baltimore residents with high quality, individualized instruction.  In addition to classroom instruction hours, learners receive 2 hours weekly of computer-assisted instruction utilizing a variety of academic software programs. 

Employability workshops are offered for learners interested in job search techniques or career advancement.  The Ripken Adult Learning Center offers comprehensive services to approximately 325 adult learners annually with day and evening programs.


 

GED PREPARATION CLASSES 

Learn to Read/Prepare for a GED:  Classes are held at the Ripken Adult Learning Center at 3 S. Frederick St., Suite 801, Baltimore, MD 21202.  

 

The Center provides instruction for Baltimore residents 16 years of age and older at all literacy levels. This ranges from Adult Basic Education through GED.  Students receive classroom and computer-assisted instruction on weekdays or evenings. Individual tutoring sessions are offered as needed. 

 

Services are free for non-readers and Pre-GED students.  A fee of $100.00 is charged for GED preparation classes.  The fee covers six months of instruction and all materials.  A limited number of partial scholarships are available for needy students.
