Adult Literacy Classes
Baltimore Reads, Inc. teaches adults and out-of-school youth basic foundation skills in reading, writing, math critical thinking, employment readiness and/or English language acquisition.
Curricula and programs can be created for individual groups or communities.
The Kurt Schmoke Reading Program
This program is specifically for students who read below a 5th grade level or who have a desire to improve their reading or comprehension skills. Students work to enhance phonological awareness, comprehension, functional reading and critical-thinking abilities. Vocabulary development is an essential component of the program. Mathematics may be included if desired.
